Ride Description

With the days getting warmer it's time for our next shop ride. We will be going for an overnight trip up to Nelson on Saturday 19 October, leaving Avon City Motorcycles at 9:30 so aim to be here by 9:15 for coffee and a meeting before we set off. Please arrive ready to go with a full tank of fuel.

The road to Nelson is in great condition and offers some breath taking scenery. We will arrange for regular stops for fuel, toilet, coffee and food.
As there are ongoing roadworks along the coast we plan to use the inland route on both days - which is not really a hardship!
We plan to stay in Monaco at The Honest Lawyer Pub, which has a range of single and double rooms (either double or twin beds for those who want to share). The Mercure Hotel is right next door offering more rooms and facilities for those who prefer.

Riding time is around 5.5 hours in each direction and with breaks we expect to arrive late afternoon on Saturday and then relax in the bar or for those who would like to browse around the centre of Nelson, its just 10 minutes down the road.
Return on Sunday aiming to be back in Christchurch around 4/4:30.
