An assembly ride to get our chapter to Optus Stadium for the Annual Charity Toy ride. To join with the Chapter ride you must meet at Caltex Midvale for the ride to Optus Stadium and then the main ride to Joondalup's HBF Arena.
At Optus Stadium there will be entertainment from the band plus breakfast. The Annual Perth Bikers' Charity Ride will depart Optus Stadium at 9:00am.
For those wanting to know a little more, the ride is to support the Salvation Army's Christmas appeal with donations of unwrapped toy & gifts, or non perishable items. This year it will be from the Venues Live/Optus Stadium entering Graham Farmer Freeway, then travel at around 80-90 km/h again to the very end of the Mitchell Freeway.
This route has been very popular last couple of year, with riders turning back onto the freeway toward Joondalup and seeing the hundreds of bikes heading in the opposite direction on the other side. We get off at Shenton Avenue and ride down to HBF Arena where the Salvos will be waiting, there will also be a variety of vendors, the very popular 35m Cadets bouncy obstacle course and the fantastic band Clincher playing.
The ride from Optus Stadium takes the group (typically 2,500 bikes and more) up the Freeway to HBF Arena Joondalup where you deliver your donations, with entertainment from the band, refreshment vendors and merchandise. It's a great spectacle with so many bikes and many brilliantly decorated (bikes and riders) for the run.
