Spring Run Coromandel 2019

Join Jamin & Fellow Riders from 21st September to 30th September

DAY 1: Saturday 21st Sept meet at the new BP Ravenswood (opposite Pegasus) 7am, leaving 7:15am to catch the 2:15pm sailing (Kaitaki) to Wellington, we will be spending Saturday in Wellington staying at the Top 10 Holiday Park Lower Hutt 95 Hutt Park road Lower Hutt Ph.04 5685913. (350km day)

Day 2: Sunday 22nd Sept leaving 9am heading up SH2 then turning left onto SH50 and making our way via Napier heading on up the coast to Mahia Beach where we will be staying the night at Mahia Beach Motel and holiday park 43 Moana Drive Mahia Ph. 068375830 (490km day)

Day 3: Monday 23rd Sept we have two options, and we will probably end up in two groups meeting up in Whitianga that night.

Option 1: (Big Day 6am Early depart) heading towards Gisborne on SH2 venturing onto SH35 and traveling through Tolaga bay, Te Puia Springs, to the top Hicks bay carrying on back down around the Bay of plenty via Tauranga making our way to Whitanga, We will be staying 4 nights at Mercury Bay Holiday Park 121 Albert Street Whitianga Ph.078665579 (705km Day)

Option 2: Leaving 9am heading up SH2 towards Gisborne while staying on SH2 we will be enduring the amazing Waioeka Gorge coming out at Opotiki then carrying up SH2 making our way via Tauranga making our way to Whitanga, We will be staying 4 nights at Mercury Bay Holiday Park 121 Albert Street Whitianga Ph.078665579 (500km Day)

Day 4: Tuesday 24th Sept Rest day all ideas and suggestions put on the table

Day 5: Wednesday 25th Sept get up and acquainted with everyone fuel up and head to Raglan for lunch at the Raglan hotel ( Great Burgers Apparently) then off to view the Bridal Veil Falls then slowly make our way back to Whitanga for refreshments and the evenings activity’s. (460km Day)

Day 6: Thursday 26th Sept Activities days all up for negation

Day 7: Friday 27th Sept make our way down to Mount Maunganui for brunch and a quick look around then carry on down to Rotoura finally stopping in Taupo, we will stay for the next couple of nights at the Taupo Top 10 Holiday Resort 41 Centennial Dr, Tauhara, Ph 07-378 6860 (300km Day)

Day 8: Saturday 28th Sept get up, regroup, the plan is to head to Waitomo caves we will head through Benneydale on the way up to Waitomo, once we have had a good look around we will come back down through Taumarunui, Turangi along the side of Lake Taupo back to Taupo around 5 ish (350km Day)

Day 9: Sunday 29th Sept 7:30am check out and head down to the waterfront for breakfast and regroup. Then make our way down to wellington for the ferry crossing back to Picton on the 2:45pm Ferry (Aratere) getting into Picton 6pm, (370km Day)

Jamin and anyone else who wants to will be carrying on straight back to Christchurch providing you have tea on the boat and ready to roll we should be back in Christchurch 10:30/11pm. (700km Day) For the rest who want to stay in Picton the night the Gateway it is 32 High Street Picton Ph. 035736398 then rolling home in the morning

This is can be your own ride, you don’t have to stay at the places listed and you don’t have to travel the same roads as everyone else you can pick and choose what you want to cover over the 9 days.
